Tonight at the Happy Vixen, DJ Tantari offers "a retrospective journey" of the progressive rock English band "Yes" - "through the history of the band YES up through the Talk album" in the mid 1990s. 250L will be on the board for the best rock and roll look. Say no to drama, but say yes to this show.

Tuesday - Anime Night

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, it's our Anime Night. Anime, or Japanese animation, these cartoons aren't always kiddie stuff. Come on over as a character, whether it be a monster hunter, a magical princess, a giant robot pilot, a wandering samauri, or an adorably cute catgirl. It's our salute to those not so cartoony cartoons, and you won't need to dub your dialogue. So get your pocky and shorter than short skirts and head on over.

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, it's our Best in White event. It's the first day in December with winter around the corner, so we're bringing in the color of winter. So get your white dresses, white suits, white caps and scarves. Or you can get your white-furred avatars. So don't end up getting a snow job, get your best white wear and head over.

Navy Night

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, it's our Navy Night. We salute our armed forces on the high seas from the captain on the bridge to the swabbies moping the deck. Get a sailor suit, an officer in dress uniform, a pirate, or anything else that brings to mind the ships at sea. So don't just sit at home and contemplate your naval. Make it anchors away and head on over.

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, we turn the clock back to the days of sex, drugs, and rock and roll with our 60s night. Come dressed as a hippie, a protester, a guy in a polyester leisure suit, or maybe one of the cops keeping the protesters in line. Please don't drop out, but do tune in. Hop on the VW bus and head on over.

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, it's our tribute to the first Thanksgiving with "Pilgrims and Indians." Do you see yourself as one of the Pilgrims, looking for freedom in a brave new world? Or perhaps one of the Indians, whom are welcoming some strange new visitors. Or you can just come as the turkey. Whichever side you choose, wear the best outfit you can, and head on over.

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, it's our tribute to a classic rivalry among carnivores, cats and dogs. Do you fancy yourself as a feline, with stealth, grace, and individualism? Or perhaps a canine, with stamina, a pack at your back, and just plain "dogged" determination? However you look, pick a side and come on over. And yes, "cannids" count for this contest, for those who'd rather be foxy.

Tonight at the Happy Vixen, it's "Best in Uniforms." With Veterans Day yesterday, this is the night of the week to wear a miitary look, wether Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. Don't want police, firefighters, or doctors and nurses to be left out? Those uniforms are welcome too. However you look, iron your sleeves, spit and polish your shoes (if you can't wear them well, just wipe your feet), and head on over

ROMA Ludi Romani Festival Schedule

Saturday 26th September

10am - Ludi Romani Ritual for Jupiter Optimus Maximus
A ritual to honour the King of the Gods, Jupiter Optimus Maximus, followed by a light social gathering with dancing and feasting. Come join us in celebrating the beginning of the Ludi Romani!

12pm - Ludi Romani Chariot Races
A traditional part of the ancient Ludi Romani were chariot races - and for our Ludi Romani, we have our own! Come race against other Citizens for prizes (anyone can sign up to race), or come watch the spectacle and cheer on the racers. There will be 4 races of 5 laps each - the winners of the first three races will compete in the final race to determine the final winners. But beware! Chariot racing is a dangerous sport - these chariots can wreck and put you out of the race! Are you skilled enough to beat the odds? Come race and find out!

1pm - Ludi Romani Sail or Sink Trivia Game
Time for another round of our very own trivia game - The ROMA Sail or Sink! This is a team trivia contest, where each team gets a chance to answer trivia questions and progress across the game board. (Rather like a game show!) There will be cash prizes for the winning teams. If you are interested in participating in this quiz game, get a four person team together before Sunday, and give notecard with names to Angelia. Or if you want to take part but are unable to field a team, just show up and we'll fill out teams with volunteers on the day of the event.

For those of you with an intellectual bent, we have an relaxing hour of poetry! The theme for this reading is "Poems which mention the Muses" and "Poems relating to Art, Music, and Poetry". You can read your favourite poems by other authors or share one of your own compositions.

Our festivals wind down with the Grand Feast in honour of Jupiter - come dance with us in the ROMA forum to the smooth tunes of Frank Lee Anatra! There will be dancing, feasting, and good company - some please join us in bidding farewell to the Ludi Romani until next year!

1pm - Legio Ludi Romani Harpastum
Come join us as our Legio faces off in a game of Harpastum in honour of the Ludi Romani! Harpustum, was the ancient Romans answer to soccer/football. For this game, you'll see the contestants display considerable speed, agility, and physical ability. All citizens are invited to participate in the game or watch from the sidelines!

Get your favorite skunk avatars (or just show up if you're always one) as we have our tribute to our favorite black and white stripped critters. Don't have a skunk avie, just wear some black and white clothes. DJ Tantari will spin her selection of tunes with the marvelous mephit in mind. The avatars may stink, but the music never will.
